Fun little indoor activity for a toddler!

I found this on Pinterest. All I did was squirt some paint into the ziplock gallon bag and he smoothed, drew, squeezed the paint all over the bag. This is mess free and you can even save it! This is a great activity if you go to dinner or are waiting somewhere that might be boring for the kiddos. Ou can even do it in a sandwich bag if you need it smaller in size.

Rainy Day Fun!

Pinterest is so awesome! I love being able to find all these creative and fun activities to do with my kids especially when it is a Washington rainy day or should I say a few months! Today I made an indoor sand pit for Hunter. We have been kind of home bound and I could tell he was getting sick of me and my lack of creative fun! So here is our indoor sand and it cleans well and smells good!

Recipe: 8 cups of flour and 1 cup of baby oil and mix. It will appear flaky but you can totally mold it and make sand castles! Add cars, spoons, cups and you have hours of fun!

Hunter's 2 year checkup

Well I am a little late on Hunter's 2 year check up because we had to move insurances three times so I wanted to wait til that all got fixed so there wouldn't be any confusion with all that! Hunter did so well! He was so happy today that it was hard to allow the doctor to give him shots. I tried to warn him but I don't think he understood since he doesn't remember getting any shots before. He let the doctor check him all over she even did his blood pressure which was totally cute! She is an old fashion doctor. He was talking to her and just watching her check him all out. He looks good and he is progressing wonderful. He is at 50% for his age. Here are his stats and some pictures I was able to snag. Oh and the shots well he said "OW" and started crying since there were three of them but I was smart and I had his favorite sweet treat in my pocket...a sucker...which that made him forget real quick what just happened.

Tree Cutting and Decorating Time!

Here was our Sunday! We went and cut a tree down at Hubert's out in Seabeck! I recommend this place to anyone they had tons of trees and all different kinds. We got a noble fir because to me the needles are softer and not so painful to decorate like some other trees. This year was fun because Hunter is now at an age to enjoy these types of things and I forgot that he doesn't really know what "Christmas" is so I have been using the word alot. We even saw Christmas lights hanging in a neighborhood and he asked "What's that?!?!" Was so cute! Below is our tree cutting and decorating experience we had this year.

Everyone helping Colin cut the tree. Gave Hunter the saw and said "No, you do it." and gave it back to daddy. He wasn't sure what was going on so he just watched. Kylee actually did most of the cutting this year so that was fun for her!

Happy Thanksgiving!

THE PARENT RAP - So Hilarious and VERY True!

This is truly what Thanksgiving is about...

Kylee was asked at school for her assignment to pick one OR two people and write a thank you letter to them for Thanksgiving. Over the weekend prior Colin and Kylee had a serious conversation about who provides "stuff" for this family such as her swimming at the YMCA, her clothes, the food on the table, the roof over her head, gymnastics etc. As they were talking she kind of disrespected Colin and said Mommy pays for everything and you pay for nothing Colin. Colin was SHOCKED at this response. She thought that I bought everything with the money I made through doing embroidery which is definetly not the case! I make enough cause that is all I care to do to pay for the machine each month and none of that money even gets taken out of the account to use for other non necessities of our life. Colin was rather hurt by all this so I had a talk with Kylee as well and explained how just because Mom might take you to get new clothes or buy the food doesn't mean that money comes from me but in reality it comes from Colin who is a hard working man in the family and provides for us on a daily basis. She is smart enough and understood what was being said and that was that...well she I guess decided she wanted to pick Colin as her "person" to write about and no one else was chosen and this is what she wrote below. Her and I added the bullet hole in the deer with the blood for giggles cause Colin and his hunting obsession.

Colin was overwhelmed with emotion this was probably one of the sweatest and most thoughtful things he could have received from a nine year old step child. This is truly what Thanksgiving is about and so glad to see my child's heart shining through! This is definetly going into the keep sake box!
